We are pleased to announce the commencement of research examining the impact of the Instructional Leadership (IL) Programme. This is an important research study, commissioned by ETBI and being undertaken independently by researchers at Dublin City University, led by Dr Barry Morrissey.

The study explores how participation in the Instructional Leadership Programme (ILP) has influenced post-primary teachers’ individual and collective professional practice, as well as student engagement and achievement.

The findings will play an important role in shaping the future direction of the programme and in positioning the ILP within the wider literature on professional learning for teachers.

We look forward to launching the evaluation in September and to using the findings to inform the future development of the programme, with a view to further supporting the professional learning of post-primary teachers.
