


Eochair – The key to happy, active and inclusive learning.
The Instructional Leadership Programme in partnership with Limerick Education Centre developed a programme of professional learning for primary school teachers; Eochair – the key to happy, active, and inclusive learning. The programme was launched on Monday 4th March 2024 in Limerick Education Centre.
Eochair focuses on pedagogy and professional reflection, based on the Instructional Leadership Programme for post-primary teachers, it has been designed to support primary school teachers in the implementation of the new primary curriculum.
The Programme is facilitated by primary school teachers who have qualified from the Instructional Leadership Programme.
Eochair, endeavours to initiate and facilitate systemic change, by specifically aiming to:
- Encourage teachers to consciously modify their instructional actions to maximise student learning.
- Facilitate the conscious and deliberate utilisation of teacher actions – skills, tactics & strategies.
- Foster an awareness of how a teacher’s actions can impact on student learning – motivation, novelty, authenticity, accountability safety.
- Re/acquaint teachers with the extent to which learning is affected by diverse learning styles, multiple intelligences, an at-risk environment etc.
- Enhance classroom management.
- Encourage & Support Individual and Collaborative Professional Reflection.
