IL Cohort 16 commenced November 2025 facilitated by Dr Rebecca Saunders

Cohort 16 of the Instructional Leadership Programme completed session 2 in March 2025 and session 3 in November 2025.  Cohort 16 are scheduled to graduate March 2026. This cohort is the first group facilitated by Dr Rebecca Saunders, Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Education, School of Education, in Mary Immaculate College, Thurles Campus. Working with Becky, we have advanced the progarmme even further to include elements of leading educational change and Tribes which focuses on creating positive learning environments by fostering collaboration, respect, and social-emotional well-being among students.

Cohort 1 of Lasair:Supporting Prinicpals and Deputy Principals as Instructional Leaders

Cohort 1 commenced in February 2025 and participants graduated on the 1st of May 2025.  The aim of the programme is to provide Post-Primary Senior Leadership Teams with core skills, key competencies and resources that are significant in the leadership of teaching and learning, towards to improving school and student learning outcomes.

Cohort 2 of Peer Instructional Conferencing & Coaching Programme commenced, facilitated by Dr Rebecca Saunders continued with session 2 in January 2025 and session 3 in April 2025.  The participating schools graduated on the 2nd of April 2025.  Using three different coaching dialogues, the programme was designed to provide teachers with skills to develop positive coaching relationships with peers in order to help them make sustained change in their professional practice

We have developed the programme for primary schools, to support teachers in the implementation of the new primary school curriculum. Eochair– the key to happy, active, and inclusive learning. The programme was facilitated by Ms Linda O Meara, Milford Primary as a Cursá Samhraidh for primary teachers in the Limerick Education Centre in July 2025

NAPD Conference 2025

We attended the NAPD Conference in Galway on the 17th of October 2025.  Dr Sharon Coffey and Dr Rebecca Saunders participated in a panel discussion with Mr Paul Crone, Director of NAPD and members of the SLT of Harold’s Cross ETSS and Trinity Comprehensive School, previous participants of the Pilot Programme and Cohort 1.  The discussion provided an overview of the programme, Lasair and provided an opportunity for the panel members to outline their learning journey.  We also opened registration for Cohort 2, which is scheduled to commence in 2026.
